DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT\n\n\n\nThe North Area Council invites you to hear Walter Amaya\, Plant Manager of the GE Transportation locomotive facility give an update.  The luncheon will be held Monday\, February 29\, 2016 at the Marriott Hotel & Golf Club at Champions Circle.\n\n\n\nAmaya will give us an update on business opportunities\, economic impact\, and GE's future plans.\n\n\n\nWalter was born in Obregon\, Mexico\,  and  joined GE in 2000 as Plant Manager for GE Transportation's fabrication facility (GEMC) in Saltillo.  He graduated from the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM) with a B.S. of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering\,  and holds a MBA from the University of Dubuque and a Masters Degree in Executive Management at the Universidad Panamericana  (IPADE).\n\n\n\nDuring his career in GE\,  Walter has worked in Locomotive and Engine fabrications\,  Off Highway Vehicle\,  Wind\, UX and repair facilities for both GE and EMD product lines\, living in Saltillo\,  Grove City\, Erie and Monterrey\,  Mexico. \n\n\n\nPrior to his current assignment  as Plant Manager of the new Locomotive facility in Ft. Worth\,  Texas\,  Walter had the Supply Chain responsibility for the component repair facilities for GE Transportation in Grove City\,  Emporium\, Cleveland\,  Albany\,  Kansas City\, Las Vegas and the business Turbo repair facility in Hyderabad\, India.\n\nAs a GE leader\, Walter continuously sponsors and develops diverse talent within the business\,  and actively participates in the community as a Board Member of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Tarrant  County\,  as well as diversity forums in both Mexico and the U.S.\n\n\n\nWalter is married to Astrid\, and have a family of four children\,  Andres (17)\,  Santiago (15)\,  Pablo (13) and Mariana (11).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nReservation Policy\n\nAll reservations must be accompanied by full payment.
