Human Resources Generalist

Camp Fire First Texas is currently seeking a talented and professional human resource (HR) specialist to join our team and manage all human resource procedures. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting and evolving employees through our company’s guidelines and managing processes. The main responsibilities will include serving as liaison and the main point of contact for our Professional Employment Organization (PEO) provider and staff. Responsible for day-to-day HR operations and communicating all HR updates to employees. To excel in this role, you should be an excellent communicator, with in-depth knowledge of the HR process and labor regulations.

 

Key Area of Responsibilities

General

  • Create, implement, and evaluate all human resource department policies, procedures, and structures.
  • Manage relationship with PEO provider and serve as liaison.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on PEO platform.
  • Post all open job postings through PEO platform and work with hiring managers to fill positions
  • Communicate company updates regarding HR policy.
  • Respond to employees’ queries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate employee performance review process.
  • Work with managers on development and goal plans for employees.
  • Provide HR templates, tools, and resources to staff as needed.
  • Strategize with CFO on required training for managers and all employees.
  • Provide process and guidance to employees regarding HR matters.
  • Maintain organizational charts and detailed job descriptions.
  • Partner with CEO on matters related to organizational culture, professional growth and advancement and diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging (DEIB).

Payroll

  • Process bi-weekly payroll and provide necessary reports to accounting.
  • Process wage garnishment and other deductions/earnings.
  • Communicate with managers to resolve issues with payroll
  • Ensure all timecards are approved by the deadline
  • Reconcile payroll records with approved timecards
  • Process/manage all new hires, terminations, and employee changes.

Benefits

  • Manage benefit open enrollment process.
  • Work with CFO on benefit renewal analysis.
  • Communicate benefit updates to all employees.
  • Manage PTO and leave plans, including oversight of usage.
  • Reconcile and process payment for 401(k) plan.
  • Inform employees about additional benefits they’re eligible for (i.e., extra vacation days)

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations.
  • Explain human resources policies, standards and procedures to employees to ensure compliance.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resources or equivalent experience (5 years with HR certification)
  • 3+ years experience in Human Resources, Generalist experience preferred
  • Experience working with a Professional Employment Organization is a plus
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentially and discretion
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Teams
