Medtronic’s Fort Worth Facility is looking for a Night Shift Manufacturing Supervisor to coach and supervise a group of Production Associates and Team leaders working in multiple work cells to assure the timely and cost-effective manufacturing of high quality medical devices.

 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the patients we serve and an unrelenting desire to improve our business and products. The candidate must have a continuous improvement foundation, problem solving skills, scientific thinking, interpersonal skills, scientific rigor, and able to lead in a high paced team-oriented environment.

A Day in the Life

As Night Shift Manufacturing Supervisor you will provide proactive leadership and hands-on continuous improvement.
 You will have overall responsibility and authority to deliver value to customers, including people and process management, safety and quality compliance, cost management, continuous improvement, planning, etc. 

 You will lead a team of direct and indirect employees to achieve the expected results in terms of safety, quality, delivery and cost.  This will include coordinating all activities with cross functional teams.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

EXECUTION

  • Manage workflows on site to deliver expected results using lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Strive to reach and maintain best in class backorders/product availability and work diligently to resolve and communicate issues a timely manner.
  • Identify resources necessary; personnel, tooling, equipment, facilities, and production.
  • Drive a culture where Safety and Quality are the norm throughout the Manufacturing
  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply
  • Work within tiered management processes that prioritize work, drive accountability, and improve performance
  • Communicate business plans, new developments, and other matters of importance to subordinates in an organized and regularly scheduled manner.

TRANSFORMATION

  • Create and foster an employee-oriented culture supporting engagement and diversity.
  • Lead the creation of the current-state and future-state value-stream maps and the implementation plan for getting from present to future. 
  • Lead and execute improvements as well key COS transformations
  • Lead activities to improve processes and systems for safety, quality, cost reduction, and lead-time.
  • Develop, sustain, and grow lean culture.

PEOPLE LEADERSHIP

  • Ensure that department personnel are properly qualified and trained. 
  • Manage, monitor, mentor, and support the activities of direct reports to ensure KPIs and personal development objectives are met.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to meet the organization goals. 
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
 
  • A High School Diploma AND a minimum 5 years of manufacturing work experience OR An Associate’s Degree AND a minimum 2 years of manufacturing work experience OR A Bachelor’s Degree AND 1 year of manufacturing experience

Nice to Have
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering
  • Medical device manufacturing experience
  • Experience in MRP
  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
  • Lean Six Sigma Experience/Knowledge
  • Excellent coaching and people skills
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • High customer focus and understanding of customer needs.
  • Good communication skills and established leadership ability 
  • Ability to recognize and support site priorities
  • Capable of managing projects and prioritizing effectively
  • Solid Financials Skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of employees.
