The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is currently accepting applications for Straight Talk Counselor. Straight Talk program serves Boys & Girls Club members ages 6 – 18.
Straight Talk Counselor will conduct clinical assessments to determine mental health needs and risk factors; create and implement clinical treatment plans; conduct one on one and group counseling sessions utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT); conduct crisis management; coordinate wrap around services; and administrative duties including documentation and compliance. Straight Talk Counselor is required to ensure counseling license remains in good standing and holds valid professional liability insurance at all times. This position may supervise part time staff and/or independent contractors. Positions requirements include provide training on various topics to organizational staff. Straight Talk Counselor is responsible for meeting all program goals and objectives successfully.
Work sites are located in low income areas, challenging neighborhoods, and growth neighborhoods. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and at times moderate or very loud. Position requires working with individuals and small to large groups of youth. There is potential for exposure to germs and illnesses. Employees are to follow all safety procedures and protocols.
