Manager - Talent

The Manager of Talent serves the Chamber by assisting in the Talent and Quality of Place areas.  Help with the Chamber’s efforts in developing, retaining and attracting talent.  Work on projects and programs to engage businesses, educational entities, governments, non-profits and the community to develop, attract and retain a quality workforce for current and future economic growth.  Work with internal Economic Development, Marketing and Events staff.   Excellent customer service and a passion for serving others is key to create a positive energy and excitement for Chamber staff and volunteers.  
Essential duties and responsibilities will include, but are not be limited to:
Talent Attraction & Retention

  • Support the collaboration of private sector business and educational partners to develop a workforce pipeline for industry, this includes but is not limited to:
    • Business and education field trips
    • Collect data and create reports
    • Meet with employers to understand talent needs
    • Retaining local college graduates
    • Understanding high demand occupations and the programs supporting them
  • Oversee the implementation of the Fort Worth ISD Memorandum of Understanding
  • Oversee the implementation of grant agreements as related to workforce and talent development
  • Support related Chamber events, committees, and taskforces
  • Assist stakeholders in achieving poverty and housing goals
  • Oversee the young professionals program – Vision FW
Economic Development
  • Support the Business Attraction team in with workforce resources in the economic development project process
  • Support the Business Retention & Expansion team by performing interviews and guiding companies to available resources as necessary
  • Support the Small Business team by and guiding companies to available resources as necessary
  • Represent the Chamber on community boards and committees as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in human resources, talent acquisition, workforce development or education (K-12, higher education or career and technical education.
  • Project management experience
  • Must have excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills
  • Requires good interpersonal skills
  • Research and data analysis skills
  • Data visualization skills
  • Writing and editing skills
Position requires working with investors, staff and the community.  Must be able to work in a team environment.  Position may require making recommendations regarding matters that are beyond written procedures and determine procedures for major activities. 

  • Some domestic travel
  • Moderate noise level
  • Some lifting of boxes of up to 50 pounds
  • Long periods of sitting
  • Occasional early morning, evening, and weekend events
