The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is currently accepting applications for Music & Youth Assistant. The Music & Youth Assistant, under the supervision of the Coordinator/Director, is responsible for leadership; music clubhouse operations; music clubhouse programming; administrative compliance; facility and child safety.
Duties include but not limited to: competent and credible leader others choose to follow; define vision clearly; execute strategy; coach team to improve performance; responsible for operations in the music clubhouse; accountable for quality programming and achieving set goals. Responsible for all required reports and administrative duties; comply with administrative policies and procedures; accountable for safety at assigned facility; and be a positive role model.
Music & Youth program helps youth experience the magic of music. Program provides instruments and staffing for free music lessons such as drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar and keyboard. Youth also learn how to record and produce their own music as well as form “garage bands”. Employees use their music expertise to mentor teen participants and help them increase their self-confidence/self-esteem by teaching them to play instruments, perform on stage, and record music in the studio.
Work sites are located in low income areas, challenging neighborhoods, and growth neighborhoods. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and at times moderate or very loud. Position requires working with large groups of youth. There is potential for exposure to germs and illnesses. Employees are to follow all safety procedures and protocols.
At the branches, youth receive targeted services in a safe, supportive environment from staff who believe in the organization’s mission. The Club experience focuses on three priority outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Positive Citizenship.
