Senior Director of Accounting

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is accepting applications for Senior Director of Accounting. The Senior Director of Accounting is responsible for accounting operations, accounting compliance, financial reporting and planning, audit, and administrative compliance


Duties include but not limited to: manage general accounting functions, general ledger accuracy, accurate accounting processing, month end close, cash management, and balance sheet reconciliation, quality control over financial transactions and reporting, oversee and assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, grants and payroll; monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls and procurement policies; budgeting, manage contracts, audit liaison, and administrative compliance. 


This job is performed in a normal office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud and at times loud. Work sites are located in low income areas, challenging neighborhoods, and growth neighborhoods. 





Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university; accounting or business majors preferred
  • Minimum of five years progressive experience with demonstrated leadership skills; non profit experience preferred
  • CPA preferred


Minimum Qualifications Requirements

  • Ability to work regular business hours
  • Knowledge and experience with fund accounting
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
  • Ability to covey highly technical information in a clear and understandable way to a wide variety of audiences
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple high-property projects simultaneously
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and using Excel formulas
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; good judgement
  • Working knowledge of all phases of the accounting cycle
  • Must be able to pass agency background screens and drug screen at any time
  • Position requires driving personal vehicle. Candidate must have satisfactory driving record, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance for operation of a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience with managing audit process
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiation and change management 
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
  • Knowledge and experience with grant billing and budgeting
  • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting
  • Knowledge of OMB Circular A-122
