Mike Shipley joins Acme Brick Company as General Production Manager

Mike Shipley Joins Acme Brick Company as General Production Manager.
 
Fort Worth, Texas - Mike began his career in the clay brick industry at Acme Brick Company, in 1985. Over the next 12 years, his jobs included Mining, Maintenance, Burning Supervisor, Plant Superintendent, and Regional Engineer. In all, he worked at Acme plants in Sealy, Texas; McQueeney, Texas; Malvern, Ark.; Elgin, Texas; and Millsap, Texas.
 
“Mike was instrumental in the construction and startup of continuous kiln operations at the site of our very first facility, the Bennett Plant,” said David Michie, Acme’s Vice President of Production.
 
Mike’s career also includes Hanson (later Forterra/Meridian) Brick, where he served as Plant Manager for its Mineral Wells. Texas facility. He later became Director of Technical Services, Vice President of U.S. Operations and ultimately Vice President of North American Operations, with responsibility for 21 brick plants.
 
Most recently he has been Director of Construction Sales for Vibrantz Technologies, a key Acme vendor based in Houston. Vibrantz (formerly Prince International) provides natural and engineered colorants for brick manufacturing.

Mike and his wife, Coree, live in Fort Worth, their home since 1994, and recently celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary. Their daughter, Claire, is a recent graduate of Abilene Christian University who works for Lakepointe Church.  The Shipleys enjoy family time, traveling, and walking their dogs around the TCU campus.
