Whoop Wireless receives CaaS contract from Higher Ed Client in TX Market.
Whoop Wireless has secured a Cellular as a Service (CaaS) contract with a Higher Education customer in the Texas market. The installation will provide commercial inbuilding cellular to several campus buildings and sites involving student activities and provide Life Safety access to critical communications in current spots that are “communication dead zones” and/or served by legacy systems that are not reliable for 911/accurate GPS location(s) and Life Safety scenarios.
After the initial review and discussion on the best technologies available for their specific applications, the customer decided to go with Whoop Wireless’ CaaS model to install Whoop’s Small Cell Interface (SCI) platform at their site. The SCI platform is a one box neutral host platform that generates the carrier signal from inside the building and is not dependent upon donor/macro platforms.
“This particular project is for multiple buildings in a campus environment where critical communications must be addressed for Life Safety, 911 scenarios and quite frankly just peace of mind for our customer and their students,” stated Mark Strittmatter, Vice President of Customer Service and Sales for Whoop Wireless. “Critical communications should not be dependent upon unreliable legacy platforms. Our customer base understands this and they understand that they have a responsibility to their students to provide a safe and secure environment to live, learn and embrace the college experience. Being able to use your mobile phone to communicate should not be an added convenience – it is a necessity.”
In discussing the Cellular as a Service (CaaS) model that Whoop Wireless offers their existing and new client base, Mr. Strittmatter walked through the flexibility of the Company’s financial model, “Whoop Wireless continues to expand the financial options for our clients so that our customer base can have access to best in class services that are affordable and manageable from an operations, maintenance and budget perspective,” stated Strittmatter. “Whoop Wireless offers both Cellular as a Service (CaaS) and Public Safety as a Service (PSaaS) for every project that we design.”
The project is scheduled for installation during the first week of December and will include a benchmark before/after RF survey that will be used for future maintenance and annual inspection services that are provided as part of the Whoop Wireless CaaS platform.
