SUMMARY:DRC Solutions 25th Anniversary Celebration and Breakfast with the Mayor
DESCRIPTION:Dear Friends\,\n\n\n\nWe are truly humbled to be the Honorary Event Chairs for Breakfast with the Mayor in this 25th anniversary year of DRC Solutions. The necessity of this important work is evidenced by the men\, women and families with children living unsheltered throughout many areas of Fort Worth and Tarrant County.\n\n\n\nThe stories of our homeless population are as varied as they are heartbreaking. The overwhelming issues of illness\, injury\, fear\, food insecurity\, physical attacks and the lack of sanitation create a common dilemma where daily survival is the only goal. Hope science reveals that an essential component in rebounding from trauma is the belief that one's tomorrows will be better than his/her yesterdays. The work of DRC is critical to providing that hopeful path forward to a better\, more sustainable life.\n\n\n\nWith your help\, DRC is investing in solutions that make a difference\, moving people off the streets and into stable housing. With a safe place to live and maintain personal belongings\, an address\, a place to sleep and to maintain health and hygiene\, it becomes easier for people to imagine themselves getting a job and changing the direction of their lives.\n\n\n\nYour generosity will empower those most vulnerable in our society\, and it will also serve to support the societal issues we all wrestle with daily. We invite you to join us in pledging your sponsorship commitment today.\n\n\n\nSincerely\,\n\nBeverly and Charlie Powell\n\nHonorary Chairs\n\n2024 Breakfast with the Mayor\n\n\n\nTarrant County is experiencing an unprecedented number of people experiencing homelessness. According to the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition (TCHC)\, of which DRC Solutions is a partner agency\, the nadir happened in April of 2020\, when approximately 530 households (individuals\, couples\, and families) were experiencing homelessness in our community. Pandemic-era eviction moratoria and rental assistance staved off homelessness for many.\n\nWith the lifting of moratoria\, people began to lose their housing. By December 31\, 2022\, almost 5\,000 households had been without a permanent place to live at some point during the year\, up 38% over 2019. While Tarrant County is making great strides housing the chronically homeless\; simultaneously\, new households are becoming homeless at an alarming rate. When people have no other place to go\, they go to the streets. When people go to the streets\, taxpayers foot the bill. Homelessness also negatively affects our county hospital system\, our ambulance system\, and our public libraries. In all of these areas\, public resources are spent mitigating homelessness instead of solving it.\n\nWith your support\, the DRC can continue to provide high quality\, effective solutions to homelessness. Together\, we can stand and say\, "Not here\, not in our city!" and commit to homelessness programs that actually work.\n\n\n\n\n\nLimited tables available.\n\nIn 2023\, Breakfast with the Mayor sold out\, with 300 local business and community leaders in attendance. We anticipate a record response for our 25th Anniversary celebration in 2024. Reserve your sponsorship today!
