Before you get away for the holidays\, be sure to mark your calendar for the Chamber’s Membership Luncheon January 17. The East Area council will welcome new Fort Worth City Councilwoman Kelly Allen Gray\, who will inform us about exciting revitalization progress and plans for the southeast side.
These include the new housing development in the Terrell Heights neighborhood\, as well as the construction of a new campus entry for Texas Wesleyan University. The Star-Telegram recently reported “The city in recent years has built the pedestrian-friendly Evans Avenue plaza\, a new library branch\, and Hazel Harvey Peace Center for Neighborhoods” in the area.
Ms. Gray\, a graduate of Polytechnic High School and Texas A&\;M – Commerce\, was sworn in as the District 8 Councilmember July 10\, 2012. She has served as executive director of the United Riverside Rebuilding Corporation\, President of the PTO at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic School for four years and currently serves on the school’s board of directors. She also serves on the board of Streams and Valleys\, among many other community organizations.
