DESCRIPTION:As a senior member of the Texas House of Representative's Business & Industry Committee\, Representative Nicole Collier wants to help Texas contractors and vendors interested in doing business with state agencies\, get a jump on 2020.\n\n\n\nTo that end\, she will be holding a town hall that will shed light on Texas' procurement process.  \n\n\n\nRepresentative Collier's town hall will be a great information opportunity for contractors interested in growing their businesses\, through state agencies. Attendees will learn how Texas' agencies conduct the bid practice\, and strengthen their knowledge about procurement-related topics including the Historically Underutilized Business Program\, becoming a certified HUB or DBE\, how to become a state-approved vendor\, and how to properly submit bid proposals. \n\n\n\nGuest speakers will include procurement and decision-makers from several Texas agencies\, including the Texas Department of Transportation\, Texas Health and Human Services Commission\, Texas Department of State Health Services\, the Statewide Procurement Division from the Texas Comptroller's Office\, and the Texas Department of Information Resources.
