DESCRIPTION:We hope you're available November 7th for our 2nd Annual State of the County luncheon with Judge Glen Whitley. \n\n \n\nTarrant County with its 41 cities is one of the fastest growing counties in the country. Nearly 2 million people live here now\, compared with about 800\,000 in 1980. With this kind of growth explosion\, taxpayers and local governments look to the county as the front door to many government services such as courts\, housing or health services\, a law library and keeping critical historic records.\n\n \n\nJudge Whitley will address three priorities: regional collaboration and cooperation needed to improve transportation\; the status of the JPS Health Network in light of national health care reform\; and steps the County is taking to create budgetary efficiencies and maximize revenues.\n\n \n\nAt a reception prior to the luncheon\, the Greater Tarrant Business Ethics Awards will be presented. (Finalists are Bennett Benner Pettit and Calloway's Nursery.) During the luncheon the Vandergriff Determined Drive Award will be presented to a legacy individual or organization whose contributions have positively impacted Tarrant County on an international scale.
