SUMMARY:Table of 10 Mentoring Lunch - Sept 2018
DESCRIPTION:The "Table of 10" Mentoring events offer Vision FW members an opportunity to meet and enjoy a meal with Fort Worth's top leaders and business professionals.\n\n\n\nThese events are specifically for members of Vision FW (the Chamber's Young Professional Group). If you are not a member\, you can join here.\n\n\n\nThis event will give you exclusive time and access to people whose time is at a premium\, in a setting that promotes open conversation. Come ready with questions and excited to learn from Fort Worth's best social and community leadership. \n\n\n\nSeptember's Mentor: Michael Bennett\, Principal and CEO\, Bennett Benner Partners\n\n\n\nBio:\nMichael Bennett's 30-plus-year architecture career embraces contradictions. He believes in tradition and innovation\, in place-based design inspired by global architecture precedents\, in projects that are both creative and purpose-driven. Bennett's career was informed equally by small-town Texas and world capitals. After earning a degree in Music Theory and Composition from Texas Christian University in 1978 and a Master's of Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1983\, he practiced architecture in Dallas for eight years. He then worked for eight years in Germany\, two in Amsterdam\, and two in New York City. He returned to Texas in 2003 and now serves as Principal and CEO of Bennett Benner Partners.\n\nBennett has worked throughout Fort Worth's urban areas\, including downtown's Sundance Square and the new 25-story Frost Tower\, and contributed to improvements at local icons such as the Museum of Living Art at the Fort Worth Zoo and the Historic Rose Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. He has undertaken a wide variety of both architectural design and planning projects\, including restaurants (The Woodshed Smokehouse and Le Cep)\, hotels (Magnolia Hotel)\, mixed-use developments (Crockett Row at West 7th\, Alliance Town Center North and Westbend)\, parks (Palo Pinto Mountain State Park)\, and universities (Erma Lowe Hall at Texas Christian University and the New Campus Gateway at Texas Wesleyan University).\n\nBennett begins all of his designs by sketching with a pencil on paper\, demonstrating his love of design and respect for tradition even as his projects embrace new materials\, techniques\, and technologies. It's another way that Michael Bennett embraces contradiction. \n\n\nThis exclusive setting is limited to only 10 attendees and registration is required to attend (cost covers the cost of the meal). This event is limited to Vision FW members only.\n\n\n\nRegistration will open one month prior to the event.
