DESCRIPTION:Take a musical journey from the early 20th-century roots of jazz to the diverse sounds of today at the Fort Worth Library's 3rd Thursday Jazz Series\, featuring a dynamic lineup of local and internationally touring artists.\n\n2018 is our 9th season!\n\nAll concerts start at 6:30 p.m. and are at the Central Library\n\n\n\nJune 21: Tribute to the Music of Wayne Shorter\n\nJoin the Duane Durrett Quartet for an evening with the music of Wayne Shorter. In addition to being one of the great saxophonists\, Shorter is one of the great contemporary composers of modern American Music. After stints with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and Miles Davis' Second Great Quintet\, Shorter co-founded the jazz fusion band Weather Report.
