DESCRIPTION:Interested in learning more about your local and state government? Want to meet with your state representatives to discuss the issues important to you and other young professionals? 50 Vision FW members will have the chance to do just that.  Join us on March 1st for the first ever Vision FW day at the Capitol\, a one day trip to the Texas State Capitol designed to give attendees the opportunity to learn more about their state government and how it impacts Fort Worth locally.\n\nItinerary:\n6:45 – 7:15 Bus Check in\, coffee and breakfast pastries7:15 – Depart Fort Worth11:00 – 11:30 Arrive Austin12:00 – Luncheon with Austin Young Chamber members\, Guest speakers Texas State Representatives Marc Veasey and Mark Strama1:30 Tour of the Capitol/Possible Meeting with Representatives4:00 – Load Bus\, boxed lunches/snacks provided4:15 – Depart Austin\n\nDuring lunch attendees will have an opportunity to meet with members of the Austin Young Chamber and will hear from guest speakers Texas State Representatives Mark Strama and Marc Veasey. Mark Strama\, a Texas native elected to office in 2004\, has been instrumental in getting young people to get out and vote. As program director for MTV's Rock the Vote he helped in registering more than one million new voters. In addition\, he founded the first company to allow voters to register online\, bringing the convenience of new technology to the democratic process. Marc Veasey has lived in Fort Worth nearly his entire life and has earned a reputation as someone who works hard to be visible in the community. He’s passionate about increasing economic opportunities for small and minority/women owned business in the Metroplex and is always supportive of legislation that is aimed at giving hard working entrepreneurs the chance to succeed in our economy.
