DESCRIPTION:The Fort Worth Chamber is excited to host our first virtual Legislative Power Hour of the year with guests: Senator Jane Nelson\, District 12 and Senator Beverly Powell\, District 10.\n\n\n\nLegislative Power Hour is an opportunity for members to hear directly from elected officials on recent updates and to ask questions in an informal setting. We'll be joined by two legislators representing Tarrant County who will provide brief remarks\, followed by an open Q&A session from the audience. There will also be 20 minutes of 1-on-1 networking before the program begins. \n\n\n\n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSenator Jane Nelson (right) represents District 12 and serves as the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee\, which shapes the state budget and crafts fiscal policy for Texas. One of her accomplishments includes measures to dedicate lottery proceeds to education\; assist victims of domestic violence and better protect abused children. Read more about Senator Nelson here.\n\n\n\nSenator Beverly Powell (left) is a lifelong resident of North Texas\, a determined advocate for public education\, and represents the people of Texas Senate District 10. The area covers much of Tarrant County\, including parts of Fort Worth and the surrounding area.
