BASIC FUNCTION:

The SVP of Marketing will bring a combination of marketing expertise, passion and commitment to the Chamber.  The overall Chamber goal is to create better prosperity within Fort Worth. 

This position is responsible for Chamber marketing.  This includes building meaningful engagement with the regional community. This person will oversee all aspects of the marketing department including communications, branding, events and programming, creative, public relations, social media, website content and analytics. This role includes development and management of the marketing budget and management and coaching of the Chamber’s marketing team.
 
KEY ACTIVITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities will include, but are not be limited to:
 
Leadership and Management

  • Leads the development of the appropriate marketing strategies to achieve the business and marketing objectives of the Chamber
  • Ensures brand consistency
  • Collaborates with key leadership within the Chamber to develop and execute marketing strategies
  • Serves as the leader of the Chamber marketing team and promotes a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • Develops and builds the marketing team including hiring, training, development and coaching
  • Oversees the day to day marketing efforts of these areas:
    • Communication
    • Branding
    • Events and programming
    • Creative
    • Public Relations
    • Social media
    • Website content and analytics
  • Creates and builds an appropriate marketing structure.  This will coordinate all marketing and messaging throughout the Chamber.
  • Assist with the creation and management of a marketing co-op with the City, Visit FW, and other partners which nationally and internationally markets Fort Worth
  • Manages the Chamber’s overall marketing budget for the current year and assists in creating the budget for future years
  
Other Duties
  • Develops and drives a comprehensive integrated external and internal marketing and communications strategy 
  • Oversees Chamber’s events and programs.  Guides the VP-Events in effective programming and events strategies
  • Oversees creative initiatives to ensure brand consistency and quality assurance
  • Broadens external awareness of Chamber programs and priorities
  • Leverages external advertising, branding, marketing and PR firms in alignment with Chamber brand values and strategic goals
  • Manages relationship with media
  • Develops KPIs and tracks metrics and criteria for all marketing programs and activities
  • Provides quality control for concepts and projects. Evaluates project outcomes in a marketing debrief as established during a planning phase
  
Specific Creative Duties
  • Establishes creative direction for all services and programs
  • Leads all visual concept development, branding and user experience
  • Responsible for the execution of integrated advertising and marketing campaigns
  • Develops and directs creative concepts that meet the Chamber’s business objectives
  • Oversees development of all Chamber print and digital communications, marketing collateral and electronic communications
  • Oversees all website content
  • Supervises multiple projects from concept through completion
  • Audits Chamber materials
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
  • Four-year college degree in communications, marketing, creative direction or related field is required
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role.  Prefer specific Chamber or Economic Development experience or exposure and event knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing comprehensive strategic communication, media relations and marketing programs to advance an organization's mission and goals
  • Established track record in community development and engagement, social media, marketing, communications, public relations and media relations
  • Experience in building, mentoring and coaching a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and editing skills
  • Experience with both relevant traditional marketing techniques as well as cutting edge tools
 
DECISION-MAKING AND ACTION TAKING:
  • Recommends procedural changes.
  • Makes decisions regarding matters which are beyond procedures, and also decides procedures for major activities.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Some domestic travel
  • Moderate noise level
  • Some lifting of boxes of up to 40 pounds
  • Long periods of sitting
  • Early morning and evening meetings and functions
