Come learn about the African American stories of the Wild West and the people keeping that western legacy and heritage alive today and for future generations.
Presenters include: Cleo Hearn, founder of Cowboys of Color Rodeos; Elizabeth Lawless, author of Western Legends, Yesterday & Today: African Americans 1798 to 2009; Coy Poitier, producer/director of Cowboys of Color; and Don Russell, fine art photographer of Cowboys of Color photography book.
Local cowboys will mingle with attendees before and after the presentation. The equipment and tools every cowboy needs to be successful on the ranch or in the arena will be on display.
