This past summer the Supreme Court ruled, and as of today, compliance with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (federal health care reform) kicks in early 2013.
Yet in a recent Chamber survey, almost 47% of our members told us they are still undecided about what options they might take when projecting the impact of the legislation. Only 24% of you said you have a good understanding of the legislation, and 30% of you said it was critical that it be repealed.
Experts will dissect issues related to reform during the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce’s fourth annual Health Care Summit Oct. 17 at the Cendera Center.
We welcome back two popular experts, attorney Quitman Stephens and accountant Mark Rountree, who will detail the many pending legal and tax ramifications of reform.
Also, a health care industry panel will discuss broader implications for our state and local economy. Panelists are W. Stephen Love, president and CEO of the DFW Hospital Council; Dr. Gary Floyd, past chair of the Texas Medical Association’s Council on Legislation; Kelly Fristoe, president of the Texas Association of Health Underwriters, and Seana George, president of the Texas Alliance for Patient Services.
