Is Reading A Civil Right?

More than half of third- through eighth-grade students who attend public schools in the city of Fort Worth did not meet grade level for reading on state accountability tests in 2024*. In the Fort Worth ISD alone, only 33 percent of third-graders scored at grade level in reading**.
