Please mark your calendar for the lunch hour March 8 to join Frederick Slabach, president of Texas Wesleyan University, for an update on what’s in store for the 122-year-old university, its 3,376 students and the surrounding area on Fort Worth’s east side. Slabach, a Mississippi native, was named the 20th president at Texas Wesleyan in 2010 after serving as executive secretary and CEO of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation in Washington, D.C. At his recent formal inauguration as president January 27, Slabach unveiled a strategic plan to focus on preparing students to become critical thinkers using analytical reasoning. The plan also makes a priority of providing graduate programs to students juggling work and families.
