Take a musical journey from the early 20th-century roots of jazz to the diverse sounds of today at the Fort Worth Library’s 3rd Thursday Jazz Series, featuring a dynamic lineup of local and internationally touring artists.

July 19: Literary Jazz
Led by its co-founder, versatile soprano and Fort Worth native Audra Scott, Music Mentors of Texas performs an array of standards ranging from the Queen of Jazz Ella Fitzgerald to American Soprano Jessye Norman. A combination of loved familiar jazz tunes and a new, 'outside the box' take on American spirituals, the music will make you move your feet and feed your soul. Music Mentors of Texas is an organization of professional musicians and music educators dedicated to giving free music lessons to underprivileged youth in Fort Worth/Tarrant County.
