Michael began his career at UTA in 2008. Under his leadership, graduate student enrollment increased by more than 100% at SUPA between 2008 to 2011. As Interim Director at UTA Fort Worth, Michael has focused on expanding programs and services to meet meet industry and community needs. New offerings include the MPA City Cohort partnership with City of Fort Worth, the Bachelor of Social Work Cohort, and the new Go Center. Current boards and committees include, Leadership Fort Worth, Rotary Club of Fort Worth, Chamber’s Higher Ed. Committee, and VisionFW. Michael was recognized as a 40 under 40 honoree in 2019 by Fort Worth Business Press and is currently one of two UTA administrators in the Texas Academic Leadership Academy. Michael earned his B.A. in Interpersonal and Organizational Communications from Cal State Long Beach and M.A. in Education from Alliant International University.
