Have you approached a new customer and been met with the response of, "You wouldn't understand, you are not in our industry"? Or, have you applied to work with a new company and were told, "You won't fit in because you aren't part of our world"? These are real responses that occur regularly in niche industries. These industries are often family oriented, family owned, specialty products and services. The challenge is to tailor the approach so it fits their perception of what they need, not yours.  Spending the time to understand the unique traits of their customers, employees, products and lifestyle. These challenges are innate in all businesses.  You must answer the question, "What keeps them up at night"? to be helpful.
