Kick-Off Breakfast: North Texas Veterans Housing Summit, AUSA

Join us for Breakfast! Hosted by the Fort Worth Central Library in partnership with AUSA (Association of the United States Army) - come learn about our upcoming North Texas Veterans Housing Summit at our Kick-Off Breakfast on May 26th. Breakfast starts at 8:30, and attendees will be out and off to start their day by 9:30!

The Audie Murphy Chapter of AUSA (Association of the United States Army) is hosting DFW’s inaugural housing summit on October 29th at the Arlington Convention Center. Attendance is expected to be 7000+, as we are advertising to all 350,000 registered veterans in a 13-county radius. The point of the summit is to educate and empower veterans on all things home-related: purchasing, lending, refinancing, construction, appraisal, remodeling, etc. Our veteran population is woefully undereducated regarding the processes and benefits available to them in these spheres. In addition to over a hundred vendors geographically representing the Fort Worth, Mid-Cities and Dallas areas in attendance, there will be educational forums hosted throughout the day, as well as non-profits such as Habitat for Humanity and other veteran agencies willing and able to help all walks of the veteran population who arrive.
 
Serving as co-chairmen of the event, Alberto and Devon Reyes are both former Army Officers and veterans, having served two tours to Afghanistan after graduating from West Point in 2007 and making the Fort Worth area their home in 2012. They have been serving the area as realtors ever since and in that time searched for a way to give back to their brothers and sisters in arms. Thus, they partnered with AUSA as co-chairmen of what is sure to be a phenomenal event. The Audie Murphy Chapter does amazing work in the area: helping wounded warriors in numerous capacities, mentoring young to-be officers through their leadership program, and championing the military population in general through various local events.
