Join us for a Leaders in Government Breakfast as we welcome Dale Craymer, president of the Texas Taxpayers and Research Association, and Scott McCown, executive director of the Center for Public Policy Priorities, both from Austin.

Mr. Craymer is an expert on state business tax, particularly the franchise (or margin) tax, which is of keen interest to Chamber members. Craymer is a frequent advisor to public officials and is often asked to provide testimony on fiscal issues. He was previously director of Budget and Planning for the Governor’s Office.

Mr. McCown is a retired state district judge, widely recognized for his expertise in school finance and state tax and budget issues. The CPPP advocates for better economic and social conditions for low-and moderate-income Texans. Texas Monthly named Scott as one of the “25 most powerful people in Texas politics” and a “voice for the voiceless” in 2005.
