SOLD OUT
Hope you didn’t put up your voter registration card after the primaries because we have another election May 10!
You may have read in the last Chamberletter that there will be a $292 million, no-tax-increase bond election May 10 with seven propositions to address explosive growth Fort Worth has experienced. Also on the ballot will be option for voters to renew the Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD), funded by a half-cent sales tax.
At our next Membership luncheon April 24, Mayor Betsy Price will give a brief overview of the bond package. Aaron J. Bovos, CFO and director of Financial Management Services, will discuss nuts and bolts of the propositions. Most of the bond package will go toward street construction and rehab, but it also addresses fire safety, library system, parks and rec, animal care and control, and municipal court and service facilities. See a brief video here.
Fort Worth Police Chief Jeffrey Halstead will talk about CCPD and the resources it funds to keep crime down.
Join us to hear Mayor Price and Friends and learn about planned improvements in your area.
