Your Better Business Bureau® of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Inc. (BBB of Fort Worth) is helping residents and businesses get rid of documents that contain private information securely at a free document shredding event. In an effort to better serve our communities, Secure Your ID Day will be held in two locations this April 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. , the Fort Worth BBB offices on Summit Ave in Fort Worth and at Foster’s Home for Children in Stephenville, Texas.
“BBB of Fort Worth wants to help consumers and businesses keep sensitive information out of the hands of identity thieves,” said Larry Taylor, BBB of Fort Worth CEO. “Recent data breaches at major retailers and online security is making it increasingly important for consumers and businesses to protect their private information and dispose of it in a secure manner.”
Businesses and residents are invited to bring up to 2 boxes or bags of paper documents that contain sensitive information and have it shredded on the spot for FREE. BBB staff will also be on hand to provide important information on identity theft prevention, online and off.
BBB of Fort Worth is one of many Better Business Bureaus across the country participating in Secure Your ID Day. For more information, consumers may call BBB of Fort Worth toll-free at (800) 621-8566 or visit your BBB website.
