About Us

The Garvey family business traces its origins to agriculture in the early part of the 20th century. R.H. Garvey built an integrated business that included grain storage and merchandising, farming and ranching, oil exploration and distribution, real estate development, and banking from Wichita Kansas. James Garvey, one of the founder's four children, moved to Fort Worth in 1959 to manage and build a portion of the family's business, including grain elevators, ranching, insurance, real estate and oil and gas exploration, production and distribution.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, changes in the grain business led to a reorganization. As grain elevator operations wound down, additional investments were made in real estate, marketable securities, petroleum distribution and convenience store operation in Kansas and Colorado. JaGee Corporation, now JaGee Holdings, LLP, was organized to manage the diverse operations; lead by Richard Garvey and Carol Garvey Sweat, James Garvey's children.
