About Us

Orant Charities exists at the intersection of dignity and possibility.

Founded in 2006 on the belief that lasting change happens when people are given the tools, trust, and opportunity to shape their own futures, Orant partners alongside communities in Malawi to build pathways out of poverty that are sustainable, human-centered, and deeply rooted in local leadership.

Malawi is often defined by what it lacks. Orant chooses instead to see what is already there: resilience, ingenuity, and an unwavering will to thrive. Through programs in education, healthcare, clean water, agriculture, business development, and environmental sustainability, Orant works across the full rhythm of life, recognizing that no single challenge exists in isolation. A student cannot learn without food. A farmer cannot grow without healthy soil. A family cannot plan for tomorrow without access to care today.

Orant’s work is not about charity imposed from afar, but partnership built from within. More than 80 Malawians are employed on the ground, shaping programs, leading solutions, and ensuring that every effort responds to real community needs. From rebuilding classrooms and supporting university students, to drilling boreholes, expanding mobile healthcare, and teaching farmers how to restore depleted soil using locally made fertilizer, Orant invests in systems that endure long after outside support fades.

At its heart, Orant is about removing weight, the quiet burdens that make survival all-consuming and imagination feel risky. When access replaces scarcity, something shifts. People breathe. They plan. They dream. Futures widen.
