Fort Worth, TX (March 14, 2025): Westwood Contractors, a leader in nationwide retail and commercial construction, is pleased to announce the addition of Albert Angelopoulos as Controller, effective March 10th. In this role, Mr. Angelopoulos will oversee the company’s accounting practices and financial management, ensuring continued fiscal strength and operational efficiency.
Mr. Angelopoulos brings more than 20 years of accounting experience, including leadership roles as Corporate Controller managing financial operations for companies with several successful middle market companies. His background includes overseeing accounting functions for highway/heavy, structural, and prime contractors. With extensive expertise in construction accounting and a deep understanding of Sage 300 CRE and Procore, Westwood’s legacy accounting and project management systems, he is well-positioned to lead and refine the company’s financial operations. Mr. Angelopoulos holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Texas and has a proven track record of financial leadership in the industry.
In his new role, Mr. Angelopoulos is responsible for maintaining and advancing Westwood’s accounting policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems while ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). He also oversees operational accounting functions, including payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Additionally, he supports the CEO in managing the company’s cash position, bonding, and banking relationships while leading the annual budgeting process, annual independent audit and long-term business planning efforts.
Recognized for his analytical mindset and precision, Mr. Angelopoulos is adept at anticipating challenges, implementing structured financial strategies, and ensuring adherence to well-defined plans. His leadership will provide Westwood and its clients with enhanced financial reporting, accurate budgeting and forecasting, proactive risk mitigation, and improved process efficiency. His collaborative approach will further strengthen the financial foundation that supports Westwood’s operations and client projects.
