Fort Worth’s continued growth depends on a workforce equipped with the right skills and strong collaboration between business, education, and the community to make that possible.
Join us for Build Your Fort Worth, presented by EECU, a half-day summit designed for business leaders, HR professionals, and education partners focused on understanding today’s skills gaps and strengthening the talent pipeline for tomorrow.
The program will begin with a presentation of results from the Fort Worth Chamber’s three-phase Skills Gaps Survey, conducted in late 2025 by the Chamber’s Talent Committee. The survey identifies the most pressing skills gaps in both the current workforce and among graduating students, offering a data-driven view of where employers are feeling the greatest strain.
A panel of business leaders will then explore the importance of soft skills in the workplace, sharing firsthand perspectives on how skills gaps affect productivity, culture, and long-term growth within their organizations.
The conversation will expand to include findings from High School and Beyond: Tracking the Life Outcomes of Fort Worth Students, a landmark report that followed more than 30,000 Fort Worth students from middle school through high school and beyond. This session will examine what the data reveals about student outcomes, workforce readiness, and the long-term implications for Fort Worth’s economy.
The program will conclude over lunch with a panel conversation featuring business leaders who recently toured Houston ISD. Panelists will share insights from education reforms and initiatives implemented there and discuss lessons that may be relevant for Fort Worth.
Build Your Fort Worth is hosted in partnership with Fort Worth HR and Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County. Continuing education credits will be available.
