SMALL BUSINESS HOT TOPICS - Internal Mobility for Small Businesses: Sell Growth, Hire Potential

Join the FWC for Small Business Hot Topics on Thursday, October 2nd from 12 PM - 1 PM. This bi-monthly lunch and learn series is designed to educate small business owners and provide resources to assist in today's business challenges.

October's session will feature Stacey Guillen Bridges, SVP of Client Solutions for Career Management Partners (CMP), a global leader in talent solutions whose visionary work has expanded opportunities for professionals worldwide and helped organizations strengthen every stage of the talent lifecycle.

In this session, Stacey will show small business leaders how to reframe internal mobility into a low-cost, high-impact strategy for recruiting and retention. Attendees will learn how to present mobility as career growth, spot coachable hires, and showcase clear development routes that keep top performers engaged.

What we’ll cover:

  • Reframe internal mobility: Simple language and examples that position “mobility” as career growth and skills development.
  • Hire for potential: Interview probes and a 1-page scorecard to evaluate learning agility, coachability, and transferable skills.

  • Retention meets recruiting: How to showcase real development routes with assessment and training to keep top performers engaged while attracting candidates who value growth.

Whether you’re hiring your first employee or scaling your team, this session will give you practical strategies to strengthen retention, sharpen your recruiting, and build a workplace where talent can grow.
