From a global pandemic to a historic winter storm, our region has been through a lot. This is why, in lieu of our Annual Small Business of the Year Award, we're celebrating your organization's 2020 accomplishments. We all adjusted and made changes to get through 2020. We want to hear your stories. Share your moment of greatest pride or achievement in the last 18 months so we can tell your story. Submissions are due by April 16.
BREAK OUT DISCUSSIONS:
The Summit will feature six breakout sessions (choose three) featuring topics covered by the Dean of UTA College of Business and other small business leaders in the community.
SMALL BUSINESS CHALLENGES:
PRESENTED BY UTA COLLEGE OF BUSINESS UTA College of Business Dean, Harry Dombroski, will moderate a discussion with UTA College of Business Alumni and business owners, highlighting COVID-19 challenges and how to move forward.
EXAMPLES OF PIVOTING Hear from wife-and-husband entrepreneurs Christie Zwahlen and David M. M. Taffet about how they pivoted when their startup consumer goods company, Petal, had to pause its operations due to the pandemic, and in just two weeks went on to successfully form an entirely new business in JukeStrat, a purpose-driven consulting group.
CYBERSECURITY FOR SMALL BUSINESSES At a time when small businesses are the most likely target, join Brian Gagnon, Chief Technology Officer and Marcus Hicks, Director of Business Development at Uprise Partners to learn ways you can protect your business against cyber-attacks.
PPP LOANS: WHAT IT MEANS COME TAX SEASON
Join Brandt Self from CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) and Amegy Bank as they share how to address the uncertainty of PPP Loans; how to apply for forgiveness and what the application process will look like.
