EECU is looking for an AVP, Mortgage Sales, who will be responsible for all aspects of originations, timely actions, and setting reasonable expectations with members, operations, and vendors. Meeting sales goals, optimizing financial performance within the department, pipeline accountability and performance expectations of the MLO team. Will introduce industry best practices and scale the department for growth in alignment with market conditions and the credit union business model.
As an AVP, constant feedback to leadership from all sources is required to allow for the opportunity to adjust the mortgage and real estate lending program, regarding rates, fees, and loan programs. Must understand the various aspects of mortgage loan pricing including servicing value, gain on sale, interest income, origination fees, and discounts/rebates that can be considered in structuring the pricing of a loan.
Occasionally originate loans as well as assist MLO’s with regards to disclosures, concerns, rates, and loan program questions. This includes but is not limited to originating and disclosing all loan types, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae, as well as Home Equity, HELOC, Home Improvement, Internal Refinance, and other Real Estate loan applications. This individual will develop and deepen relationships with new and existing realtors in alignment with the outside MLO strategy.
Responsible for originating, supervising, leading, directing, training, and motivating the Mortgage Loan Originators to achieve credit union objectives. Responsible for creating a high-performing mortgage sales team by implementing strategies for training, motivation, and performance enhancements. Management and oversight of all adherences to the MLOs performance, quality, production expectations and regulatory timelines.
To ensure MLO’s are following loan guidelines and providing proper documentation. Ensures the quality of loan files and compliance of all regulations.
Develop and maintain comprehensive standard operating procedures for all aspects of the mortgage sales process.
Responsible for overseeing the administration of applicable mortgage sales systems, managing relationships with vendors, and ensuring the efficient functionality of all related administrative processes.
*Position is fulltime onsite.
Candidates for EECU should possess the following knowledge and experience:
· Minimum 10 years in real estate lending industry, with minimum of 8 years originating FNMA, FHLMC, and GNMA mortgage loans
· Current NMLS number required
· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Symitar, Encompass –LOS system, and Blend
· Must be proficient in calculating debt ratios, loan to value ratios, evaluate credit reports, title work/abstracts, appraisals, sales contracts, flood certificates, surveys, insurance taxes, exemptions, escrow analysis, private mortgage insurance.
· Ability to make decisions, interpersonal skills, organized and structure characteristics
· Excellent oral and written communications skills
· Proven strength in leadership and development of a team. Ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
· Incumbent must have working knowledge of Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining to lending.
· Must be knowledgeable of credit union products and services.
· Knowledge of conforming products, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae (FHA and VA) Reverse Mortgages, and escrow analysis required.
· College degree required

Responsible for compliance of all Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Bribery Act, NCUA Privacy Regulations, Reg B, Reg Z, Reg DD, Reg E, Reg CC, Service Members Civil Relief, and FCRA/FACTA. Required to attend initial and ongoing annual Bank Secrecy Act training.
