Goodwill North Central Texas Promotes Adrian Kirkland to Director, Grants & Compliance

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (August 22, 2024) – Goodwill North Central Texas announced today that Adrian Kirkland has been promoted to the position of Director, Grants & Compliance.

Kirkland, an accomplished writer, educator, and editor, has a wealth of experience in grant writing, project management, and education. Since joining Goodwill North Central Texas in July 2022, she has played a crucial role in researching and writing grants, maintaining databases for grant proposals and awarded grants, developing strategic plans for growth, and representing the organization to grantors. Over her career, she has successfully secured more than $1.25 million in awarded funds.

In her new role, she will oversee the administration and compliance of grants, ensuring adherence to regulations and effective utilization of funds to support the organization’s mission. Her responsibilities will also include setting up internal management systems for overseeing grants, managing all phases of active grants, and collaborating with various departments to ensure financial and compliance requirements are met.

Kirkland’s extensive background includes freelance writing in The New York Times and other publications, producing content for food and travel blogs, and managing projects for multiple publishers and nonprofits. She holds a BA in English and American Literature from Brandeis University and earned an MA in English & American Literature from the University of Pennsylvania and an MST in General Adolescent Education from Pace University. Her teaching career spans middle school through high school, where she has created and implemented authentic learning experiences.

Committed to serving the community, she has volunteered for numerous organizations including Girls, Inc. Westchester, Hastings Education Foundation, and Family-to-Family, contributing her skills in tutoring, development strategy and community service.
