Fort Worth Country Day’s (FWCD) Class of 2025 has earned more than $11.3 million in merit-based scholarships, awarded to 86% of its 90 graduating seniors. They were accepted to 151 universities and have committed to attend 38 of them, utilizing more than $2.4 million of their offered scholarships. 49% of the senior class will attend out-of-state colleges and universities, with 48% choosing to remain in Texas. The remaining 3% encompasses students who are undecided or pursuing a professional athletic career.
FWCD valedictorian, Alex Seiden, will attend Rice University this fall. A Cum Laude Society member and National Merit Commended Student, Seiden excelled in STEM courses, including AP Chemistry and Multivariable Calculus, and completed the TCU Neeley Data Analytics Academy. His passion for sports analytics led him to a Cincinnati Reds internship, combining academics with real-world applications. A four-year varsity tennis player, Seiden earned multiple awards, including the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) Sportsmanship Award. He also demonstrated leadership as a member of the Honor and Discipline Councils and led FWCD’s Daffodil Garden project, honoring Holocaust victims.
FWCD salutatorian, Murphy Hoefer, will attend Dartmouth College in the fall. A Cum Laude Society member with a passion for STEM, she thrived in AP Chemistry and Multivariable Calculus and interned at biotech company, Eosera, to improve production efficiencies. Hoefer performed as a cellist in the Upper School Orchestra for four years and was FWCD’s top female athlete, earning the Stansbery Award annually and captaining the cross-country and swim teams. Her leadership extended to the Honor Council, Link Crew, and her role as a Summer 2025 Teaching Fellow at Breakthrough Fort Worth, inspiring future learners.
