Criterion's principals have more than 90 years of successful multifamily industry experience. They spent a total of 34 years working together at JPI Partners, Inc., a nationally recognized Texas based multifamily development firm, developing 43 apartment communities containing approximately 13,500 units with development costs totaling approximately $1.6 billion.
In 2004, the principals formed Criterion Development Partners with the intention of creating a more horizontal organizational structure that stresses the importance of accountability and responsiveness. With this goal in mind, the principals chose the name Criterion, which translates in context as ''the standard by which one is judged.''
Working out of regional offices in Dallas, Texas and Waltham, Massachusetts, Criterion has undertaken 12 multifamily developments to date with costs totaling approximately $521 million.
